awkward conversations #34

step 1: gauge the level of giveafuck in the room.
step 2: decide whether it's worth saying out loud.

awkward conversations #33

preface your one night stands.
i recommend something along the lines of:
'we'll never shop for groceries together. and i won't respect you in the morning.'
if all else fails, make sure they don't have your actual phone number.

awkward conversations #29

*snicker*
showed that fucker.

awkward conversations #28

is it? isn't it?
all anyone really knows is that it's an obsession worth teasing.

brief hiatus

i was in brisbane last week, and flat out the week before, so things got quiet and alse quite behind.
i did not waste my time in brisbane, however; i made a bunch of comics and will posting daily for at least the next two weeks.
if you're reading, and you have an idea, please email me; claire.m.kelly@gmail.com.
i'm on twitter too; clairemkelly.

erm....

that's it.

except i know people are checking the comic out, so thanks, cheers, etc, please comment if the whim strikes and pass the link on to your friends.

cheers

awkward conversations #26

yeah... like I said, dating rocks.

awkward conversations #25

racial diversity part 5: don't be boring.

awkward conversations #24

racial diversity part 4: be careful

awkward conversations #23

the internet gives us brand new ways to be totally uncomfortable with each other.

awkward conversations #22

yeah, you've heard it before. pussyhounds.

awkward conversations #21

racial diversity, part 3. being a tool has nothing to do with skin colour.

awkward conversations #20

...not that you'd ever really say it.

awkward conversations #19

oh yeah, dating rocks. i'm really enjoying it.

awkward conversations #18

racial diversity part 2

tee, hee.

awkward conversations #17

we all know someone like this... desperate for approval, trying to bond, humping your leg like a puppy...

awkward conversations #16

we lie to each other. i'm not sure why.
sometimes, i think...

if you're a clinger, just cling.

awkward conversations #15

Racial diversity, part 1: Never start a conversation with "I'm not racist".

awkward conversations #14

being single means having weird conversations that go in weird directions.

awkward conversations #13

some people have no filter.

awkward conversations #12

first dates are awkward. just get on with it.

awkward conversations #11

protect us from an uncomfortable self-awareness.

awkward conversations #10

some conversations are implicit by their aftermath.

awkward conversations #09

when is the right time to tell?

awkward conversations #08

you have to decide... acknowledge it or ignore it?

awkward conversations #07

this dinosaur looks drunk to me.
still, to be on the safe side, have his people call your people.

awkward conversations #06

honesty can be a huge, blunt knife. use it with care.

awkward conversations #05

don't start an awkward conversation you don't want to have.

awkward conversations #04

is there a word for the moment when you realise you've forgotten how to flirt?

awkward conversations #03

after a breakup, you you go with honesty?
...either way, choose and stick with it.

awkward conversations #02

affection-starved, you lose every scrap of dignity.

awkward conversations #01

don't lie, don't swap numbers, don't facebook each other.
just keep walking.

i always wanted to do a web comic

...but i can't draw. so a few weeks ago i started taking photos, and awkward conversations was born.
to my gleeful surprise, people look at it, like it and email me about it. so i thought i'd give it a more permanent home than flickr.
hope you like it - and hope you comment, pass it on and tell others!

yours in awkwardness
